MEET RACHELLE
Rachelle Litt is an experienced public servant with a proven track record, able to win tough races by focusing on commonsense ideas rooted in her core Democratic values. In 2017, despite the challenges of running for office in a municipality where Republicans outnumber Democrats, and for a seat against three male Republican challengers, she was elected to the Palm Beach Gardens City Council. In 2020, after earning a second term unopposed, she was appointed as Vice Mayor, then Mayor by her City Council colleagues. In her time on Council, Rachelle successfully advocated for responsible growth management and sustainability policies, measures to spur job creation and support small businesses, and initiatives to alleviate the local impacts of Florida’s statewide housing affordability crisis all while promoting and adhering to fiscally responsible governance principles, and protecting constituents’ tax dollars.

Her firsthand experience dealing with the shortcomings of America’s healthcare system, both as a professional pharmacist and as a mom to children born with genetic medical conditions, was what initially inspired her to become involved in politics and public policy. Rachelle was involved as a grassroots organizer for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign as well as Congressman Patrick Murphy’s races for US House and US Senate. She was an organizer for and was elected to be a delegate to both the Hillary and Biden Democratic National Conventions in 2016 and 2020. Also in 2020, she was selected as a member of President-Elect Joe Biden’s Transition Healthcare Equity Policy Team.

In addition to her accomplishments as an elected official and activism as a progressive leader, Rachelle contributes to our community as a member of many civic and business organizations. She is the current Vice Chair of the Palm Beach County Water Resources Task Force, a Board Member of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, Leadership Palm Beach County Governing Board, a Trustee of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, and a Member of the Chamber of the Palm Beaches, Women's Chamber, Women’s Foundation of Florida, and Executive Women of the Palm Beaches. She is also actively involved with the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, reaching outside the Jewish community to establish working relationships with other ethnic, faith and community groups.

Rachelle and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Litt, have lived in Palm Beach County for nearly four decades. They proudly share three grown children and three less-than-grown grandchildren. Prior to her time in government, Rachelle served her community with integrity during a 43-year pharmacy career, including 19 years as a hospital pharmacist at Jupiter Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center, while also the Consultant Pharmacist of record for the Northpoint Surgery Center in West Palm Beach. Rachelle holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University School of Pharmacy and a Florida Consultant Pharmacist Certification from Nova Southeastern University.
