Rachelle Litt Secures Key Endorsements from Congresswoman Frankel,
Sens. Berman & Polsky, Reps. Skidmore, Edmonds & Waldron
Palm Beach Gardens, FL – Today, former Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Rachelle Litt announced having secured five pivotal endorsements in the race for Florida’s State House District 94. Litt has earned the backing of Congresswoman Lois Frankel; State Senators Lori Berman and Tina Polsky; and State Representatives Kelly Skidmore Jervonte Edmonds and Katherine Waldron. The news may be enough to force other Democrats weighing campaigns of their own in District 94 to think twice. Since becoming a candidate on July 24th, the inferential strength of Litt’s candidacy along with her strong fundraising potential have kept intraparty challengers on the sidelines.
Throwing her support behind Litt, Congresswoman Frankel said, “Just as she did in Palm Beach Gardens, where registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats, Rachelle knows how to win tough races. I can think of no candidate more qualified to unify our party, defeat the ultimate GOP nominee and provide the people of District 94 with excellent representation in Tallahassee.”
Senator Berman was also enthusiastic in her praise, stating, “I’m proud to endorse Rachelle for many reasons, including her commitment to boldly advocating for Florida’s women and girls. I look forward to working with her to codify abortion rights into law, address discrimination in the workplace, bridge the wage gap, enact increased protections against domestic abuse and finally ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in our state. On each count, Rachelle is up to the task.”
Complementing Frankel and Berman’s remarks, Senator Tina Polsky added, “Not only does Rachelle have the values and judgment necessary to formulate commonsense public policy, she has the ability to rally others behind good ideas by appealing to what unites us – not what divides us. I’m excited to partner with her on everything from increasing economic opportunity in rural communities to expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare for working families to lowering the outrageous cost of property insurance for consumers.”
Accepting the endorsements, Litt replied, “I am honored that so many of our county’s most respected public servants – and my own personal role models – see in me the ability to make substantive, lasting contributions that will benefit our community and our state, just as they have done. I’m ready to get to work and eager to build upon their legacies.”
Background & Additional Information
Florida State House District 94 is currently represented by Republican Rick Roth, who is term-limited. It will be an open seat in 2024. In 2020, the electorate split evenly between President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump, making it as one of the few remaining swing districts in Florida and a top pick-up opportunity for Democrats.
